Before you use it
The trigger ranges above are TYPICAL, not authoritative — there is no national MEOWS and your unit's chart is the one that counts. What is not trust-specific is the physiology in the first block, and the reason the tool exists at all: obstetric patients are young and compensate well, so by the time the observations look bad on an adult chart a great deal has already happened. Escalate on the trend and the clinical picture, not on reaching a number.
