ARCP evidence: what actually gets counted
An ARCP asks you to evidence a year you have already worked. The evidence lives in your ePortfolio — but the counting does not, and the counting is the part people reconstruct from a rota and a diary the week before.
Your portfolio depends on your nation
| Nation | Portfolio | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 🏴 England | Horus | NHS England — evidence uploaded to the Horus e-portfolio. |
| 🏴 Wales | Turas | HEIW Wales — defers to the UKFPO national curriculum checklist. Evidence on Turas. |
| 🏴 Scotland | Turas | NES Scotland states most explicitly that there is no fixed SLE count — the requirement is evidence against all 13 FPCs. |
| 🇬🇧 N. Ireland | Turas | NIMDTA — same curriculum and recommended minimums. Evidence on Turas. |
Log it in the seconds after it happens
The numbers a form asks for — patients clerked on the take, clinics attended, teaching hours and which of them were core — are the ones you have been accumulating all year. Logged as they happen, the answer is already there. Reconstructed in June, it is an evening with a rota and a guess.
bleep oncall's logbook counts them against the published minimums for your grade and nation, and exports a CSV when a panel asks.
What it does not replace
Your ePortfolio is where evidence is uploaded, linked to the curriculum and assessed. Nothing here changes that. This is the running count that sits beside it.
Deanery and foundation school requirements vary and change. The live decision aid for your programme always prevails over any figure written here.
